Design Goals
Savannah lives in a mid-century modern home in North Paris and both the tub and this walk-in shower needed work. In this case, the walk-in shower had a very slow drain which led to standing water whenever it was used. That caused the bottom two rows of tile and the underlayment to rot out. Plus, it was avacado green which was not a color that she wanted in the shower. I replaced the wallboard with updated cement board, cemented the seams together and then replaced the bottom rows of tile. I then acid-etched the surface and then used a marine epoxy to recoat the tiles, used a second dark grey color which I sponged onto the floor to give it a slip resistant surface and then caulked all the seams to give it a finished appearance.
